Greetings Supertroopers!
This is YOUR LTG Jordan Chan with the monthly DIVISION UPDATE EMAIL! In this email, you’ll find all sorts of important information about past and upcoming events. Please remember to reach out to me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns. Content Preview:
Important Monthly Submissions: Just a reminder of the following submission deadlines for secretaries, treasurers, editors, and other officers that help fulfill these responsibilities!
Please make sure these get in on time for May, and be sure to contact me if you are having any issues with the submission or need an extension. NEW OFFICERS: remember to ask your previous officers for help or training if you’re not sure what to do. RESOURCES: Submission Email Templates Guide to the MRF Managing Key Club and AP Testing: I understand that managing Key Club as well as AP tests, finals, and more can be extremely challenging. Thus, I’ve decided to postpone more comprehensive training and core calls until the end of the school year and the beginning of summer. If officers are unsure of what to do, however, please do not hesitate to reach out! I’m here to make this busy time of the year and transition to a new term as smooth as possible. TROOPER TIP: I recommend creating a timeline for the next couple of weeks to ensure you stay on top of important dates like the submissions above, while still keeping up with your schoolwork! Upcoming Training: As I stated above, comprehensive training will take place towards the end of the school year and the beginning of summer to minimize burnout with the busy season happening right now. Also, you can expect details on an interclub Key Club Training Conference soon! If you need individual training, feel free to reach out to this email so we can set something up! Officers: Please make sure you have filled out the 2022-2023 Officer Directory if you have not already done so. You can get that link from your respective club presidents! District and Division Leadership Team: Have you applied for the Division 12 West Leadership Team yet? The application DUE DATE IS APRIL 22nd AT 11:59PM. It’s not too late to fill one out! The DLT helps me run the division, and it’s a perfect opportunity for all members of key club, from baby freshmen to experienced Supertroopers. If you’re passionate about service, or if you want to build your leadership and social skills, I highly encourage you to submit an application. You can find all of the information you need at tinyurl.com/dlt12wguide. If you’re more interested in serving on an even bigger scale, I highly recommend looking into the District Leadership Team! This is an amazing opportunity to serve on the DISTRICT level alongside the amazing executives and Lieutenant Governors from throughout the CNH District. All members are encouraged to apply, as appointments depend on ability, competence, and team dynamics! The positions and their applications can be found at tinyurl.com/cnhltapp2223, and applications are DUE ON APRIL 23, 2022 AT 6 PM. D12 Supers Q&A Recap Thank you to everyone who showed up to D12W, D12E, and D12S’s live question and answer session on Instagram on April 15th! If you missed it, HAVE NO FEAR! The entire hour-long video can be found on the @d12skeyclub instagram page. In this video, we answer YOUR questions about our division leadership teams and about ourselves. Governor’s Visit: Are you interested in meeting our current and future Kiwanis Governor? Every year, we host a dinner and reception, and Kiwanians would love for you to attend! Date: May 14, 2022 Time: 5:30 PM No Host and 6:00 PM Dinner Location: 45915 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont (Spin-A-Yarn) Menu: Salmon, London Broil, Chicken Marsala, or Eggplant Parmesan Cost: $65 per person (pay by check or cash at the door) RSVP: HERE! Kiwanis Special Games: After a two-year hiatus, the Kiwanis Special Games have returned, and they need as many key clubbers as possible to come out to show our support! The Kiwanis Special Games is a fun and inclusive annual event for special needs youth in our communities. There are accessible obstacle courses, frisbee throws, bean bag tosses, 100-yd dash events, and more. For the 2022 Special Games, volunteers will help set up the games, work with the athletes throughout the event, and guide them through each of the games. The event will take place on Friday, May 13th from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM at West Valley College. There will be around 700 athletes attending, so Kiwanis needs the help from Key Clubbers like YOU to make this event possible! If you’re interested, please contact your respective club president, as the event takes place during a school day and requires permission to attend from a school administrator.
